Our returns

Business and private matters from a single source

For most clients, business and household taxes are interconnected — that's why we prepare both returns in the same cycle and reconcile the figures with each other.

Income tax

For self-employed individuals with income-surplus accounting as well as for employees, landlords and pensioners. We record all seven types of income, special expenses and extraordinary burdens, and check which assessment type is more favourable for married couples.

Assessment review

We compare every tax assessment notice line by line with the submitted return. If the tax office deviates, we give you an assessment of whether an appeal makes sense — in good time before the deadline expires.

Your documents

Sorted receipts save half the follow-up questions

We accept documents digitally or as paper folders and tell you before your first appointment what is actually needed for your return.

What we need from you

For business returns, the year's accounting records are usually sufficient; for private returns, the certificates you already receive. If something is missing, we get in touch all at once — not through individual emails spread over weeks.

  • Trial balance or the receipts for the entire year
  • Bank and cash records as well as open items as of December 31
  • Wage tax certificates, pension and health insurance statements
  • Documentation of tradesperson services, donations and insurance contributions
  • Prior-year assessment and current advance payment determination

The process

From document review to submission

Every return goes through the same five stages with us, so you always know what is currently being worked on and what comes next from you.

  1. 1

    Reviewing documents and checking completeness

We compare your records against a checklist from the previous year and flag any missing documents in a single query — not piecemeal.

  2. 2

    Preparing figures and clarifying details

Bookkeeping, depreciation and private shares are reconciled. Unusual transactions such as vehicle sales, investment deduction allowances or home office claims are discussed with you before they go into the return.

  3. 3

Preparing the return and internal review

All schedules are recorded and checked under the dual-control principle. Any notable differences from the previous year are explained in advance in the cover letter to the tax office to avoid queries.

  4. 4

Draft sent to you for approval

You receive the complete calculation with the expected result. Nothing is submitted until you have given written approval.

  5. 5

Electronic submission and review of the assessment

The return is transmitted to the tax office via the official interface. We review the assessment notice upon receipt and get in touch with you within the one-month appeal period.

Filing deadlines

With tax representation, you gain a year of extra time

Anyone filing their own return must submit it by 31 July of the following year. With us as your tax representative, this deadline is pushed back significantly.

What the deadline extension means

If you are represented by a tax firm, the standard filing deadline runs until the last day of February of the year after next. In individual cases, the tax office may request the return earlier; such an early request then takes precedence. We keep track of your deadline and get in touch as soon as documents are needed. Please forward any early request or reminder from the tax office to us immediately — even if you think there's still plenty of time.

A return is good when there are no surprises left in the assessment notice.
